Can You Survive Homeschooling?

The Parent Edition

Wouldn’t it be nice to have your children with you at all times and know they are safe? Some may say that you are trying to shelter your child, but is that really true? I will share my simple but genuine pros and cons list with you today and maybe it will help you decide whether to homeschool or NOT.

LET’S DO THE CONS FIRST:

It may be too much for you to handle on top of the dishes, laundry, and work.

Your child will not get many social interactions with peers their own age.

Your child may get on your nerves and you may completely lose it!! (This is my biggest con)

There will be no alone time for you.

Not having any learning materials. Basically, just figuring the whole process out might get frustrating.

NOW WITH THE PROS:

You will always know that your babies are safe with you. (Especially with all the school shootings going on.)

Being in charge of what they learn. Who knows what the schools are teaching them, we aren’t there!!

It would be a great experience for you and the children to learn from each other.

This is a hard decision for our family to make. ESPECIALLY myself!! So I turned to my children and asked them if they would like to be homeschooled. They didn’t say yes or no but “ I will miss all my friends!” So that kind of made my decision but the door is always open for homeschooling.

If you decide to jump the gun, I would highly suggest asking your kids. After all, it’s their life, let them decide. What do you think will be beneficial for everyone in your family including yourself?
